Ann Taylor is a two-story with stairs and an elevator clothing and accessories store in the Stanford Shopping Center. I went with her the last time she was in town.
The main floor features their newest designs and the check-out counter. The clearance items can be found on the second floor. Both floors have dressing rooms.
The staff that I interacted with while I was there were friendly, complimentary, and helpful. My sister couldn’t quite figure out how a wrap dress was supposed to be worn and the dressing room attendant was very helpful in figuring it out.

The items are pretty expensive although I think the same about all clothing stores, really! If you’re a fan of Ann Taylor clothing, make sure to check out this location.
They’ve got a pretty large clearance area upstairs, it’s a clean store, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great place to get work dresses, tops and pants.
The ladies here are wonderful substitutes for a friend to go shopping with. A big bonus is never Having to discovering that friend is actually a frenemy.

She wanted to exchange a dress, then we found ourselves here once more to return the exchanged dress. I wandered around and tried on a cute pink floral tier ruffled blouse.
Off we went a few days later. We were on a mission to get me that blouse! And ended up convincing Sophie to buy that white and 2 shades of blue checkered color-block sundress!
Caters to many sizes: petites is upstairs, along with final sale items.
Small selection of jewelry downstairs in front of the registers. My main point in writing this review is to talk about Brittany or Britney? I’ve seen her at least twice when I came in and she always greets us with a warm smile and hello, no matter how busy she is on either floor.
She honors sales and speaks to us like frequent customers.

More sales associates should be like her! There was another lady that was extremely helpful as well, older with a pixy cut.
Thank you for the even exchange! One thing to note during our first visit is the lack of smaller sized sale items particularly in dresses downstairs.
We asked a different lady at the register and she said that’s all they have. Well, if I hadn’t noticed the sign for petites upstairs, we would’ve left empty handed.
Btw, the upstairs fitting area is very cool– 3 mirrors and a pretty glass chandelier make me want a walk in closet like that, complete with soft black 3’x3′ square leather seating.
If I could give a lower star than one, I would. As soon as I entered the store at Stanford shopping center, an alarm sounded which meant they thought we were shop lifters!
The stupid manager did Not honor my coupons. I have Never been treated so odiously!

I cut up my credit card and will never step into an AT shop again. A thousand curses upon them. This AT has one to the best collection. Because of the size of the store they have a lot more than the ones in South Bay.
I found a few dresses here that were almost double the price online. The shop is well stocked and staged.

Service is a little lacking. They may or may not help out with sizes depending on how many staffs are available. The 2nd floor is never ever staffed.

I really like the sales they have. Don’t just have to wait for thanksgiving and Christmas anymore. Also a plus, they had warmer weather nice tops even during their Christmas sale.
I agree with previous comments that service at this particular Ann Taylor is lacking; I’ve shopped at numerous AT stores throughout the state the past two decades, and frequent the Hillsdale location, but this location is probably the absolute worst with regards to customer service.
I purchased an on-line order the other day for pick up but was received a text that the order was canceled. I called the location to see what is the issue and was rudely told by an associate that only happens because they ran out of my item.
I politely inquired if they can double check the store and again was rudely told my item is not in stock. Sensing they were just too busy to handle my order and had it deliberately canceled, I drove to the store anyway a good hour driveand sure enough Not one, but two, in my size.
Just sitting there, pretty as a picture! The store wasn’t busy at 8pm when I went to check out and they were slow to make their way to the register and weren’t at all friendly.
The only positive to this store is their inventory, but that’s about it. Since my daughter, appears in court nearly every workday, she needed some professional clothing, and Sandy did a fantastic job of dressing my daughter.
She surely deserves 5 stars. Worst experience at an Ann Taylor ever. A woman in front of me had purchased a gift card and there were no gift card boxes left apparently.
So the “saleswoman” told her the manager said she could have a large white envelope to use. The woman was very disappointed as she wanted a nice presentation for the card.
Gee, let’s think outside the box for your customers. How about a little jewelry bag or a small AT bag? Do they want repeat customers or not??
When I returned my items she acted like a zombie, and when I asked politely to keep my original receipts she pretty much slapped them into my hand.
I’ve worked in retail too – never an excuse for that behavior. Complete fail. Rude customer service. They complained twice when I requested a stock check.
Wow, seems like a lot of service complaints. I don’t shop often, but for my two cents, this is the best AT on the Peninsula.
In fact, I’m going out of my way tomorrow to drop in on them in P.

This one always has a huge sales selection, many things I’ve never seen online and to my recollection some of the best service. My first time shop at this location.

If I could, I would not even give one star. The middle age blonde lady with long hair in a low pony tail at the cashier did not greet me, I said Hi to her and heard nothing back in return.

She just pushed my skirt to me on the counter with movement full of disdain. The same thing happened with the receipt.
She just shove it to me. She made me feel like I was nothing.
Just a really awful experience at AT Palo Alto while the guy cashier next to her was the total opposite. AT has to make sure not to hire this kind of person.
This is a customer service job and she should be attentive to be customer service friendly. Zero out of 4 stars. Terrible service.
No greetings, no eye contact, no help with an armful of clothes. Feels unwelcome, and I am the target customer – a silicon valley professional.
I suspect this attitude originates from the store manager and filters down to the associates, because it’s pervasive. Get it together, Ann Taylor Stanford.
